How do I launch fireworks?

Tap anywhere in the sky to launch a shell where you tapped. Drag to send up a salvo along your path. Touch and hold to fire a cake, a rapid burst of shells. Pick a shell from the carousel at the bottom, or leave it on Mix for a pleasing random pick each time.

Can it run on its own?

Yes. Turn on Quiet Sky and Peony launches gentle, sparse fireworks by itself. Set the sleep timer (15, 30 or 60 minutes) and the sky fades to stars when it ends.

How does the New Year countdown work?

Peony counts down to midnight on 31 December automatically, in your time zone. At 10 seconds the digits appear as shells in the sky, the year bursts at zero, and a 75-second Grand Finale follows. Put the countdown on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island with the Live Activity, or add a widget. Peony Pro adds countdowns to any date you like (birthdays, July 4, Diwali, Lunar New Year and more).

I didn't hear the midnight alarm.

On iOS 26 the alarm is a real alarm (it rings even on silent) and needs the alarm permission Peony asks for when you turn it on. On iOS 17 and 18 it is a time-sensitive notification, so check iPhone Settings › Notifications › Peony and that Peony is allowed through any Focus you use.

The flashes are too bright or too fast.

Peony limits strong full-screen flashes to three per second at all times. For a gentler sky, turn on Reduce flashing in Settings. It turns on by itself when iOS Dim Flashing Lights is enabled. Exports obey the same limit.

My pet hates fireworks.

Turn on Pet-friendly in Settings. It removes the booms and crackles and keeps the sparkle.

How do I set fireworks to music?

Open Shows. Pick one of the six bundled tracks and tap Auto for an instant choreography, or Record to tap your own cues in time with the music. With Peony Pro you can also choose a song you own from your Music library or import an audio file from Files. Songs protected by Apple Music DRM cannot be used; Peony tells you so when you pick one.

How do I save or share a video?

After a finale or a show, tap Share. Peony renders a video, a still or a Live Photo wallpaper and can save it to Photos (it only ever asks to add, never to read your library). Free exports carry a small "Peony" mark; Pro exports are clean and up to 4K.

What is in Peony Pro?

Peony Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription) that unlocks all 24 shells, all 7 scenes, your own music, countdowns for every date, and clean 4K videos and Live Photos. It supports Family Sharing. The live sky, the New Year countdown, the finale, widgets and the Live Activity stay free.

How do I restore my purchase?

Tap Restore in Settings or on the Peony Pro screen while signed in with the Apple Account you bought with.

Peony is using a lot of battery.

A live sky at 120 Hz is demanding. In Settings, switch spark density or frame rate to Battery saver; Quiet Sky already runs at 30 fps. The sky pauses whenever the app is covered or the screen is asleep.

Which devices does it support?

iPhone and iPad on iOS 17 or later, and Apple silicon Macs (as "Designed for iPad"). Fireworks glow brightest on XDR displays, where sparks render brighter than white.
